Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop had a conversation with Finnish news outlet YLE claiming that the company has a different strategy for entering the tablet market. “There are now over 200 different tablets on the marketplace, only one of them is doing really well,” said Elop. “And, my challenge to the team is I don’t want to be the 201st tablet on the market that you can’t tell from all of the others. We have to take a uniquely Nokia perspective.” Elop noted that the company has a choice between Microsoft’s Windows software and “some of the other software assets we have.” Early reports claim that Microsoft may even get excluded altogether in favor of a MeeGo-powered slate.
