Consumer Reports: white iPhone is not thicker

There has been a lot of talk about the new white Apple iPhone 4 being thicker than the original black model, despite Apple’s claims otherwise. Well, Consumer Reports has stepped up to back Apple’s position, claiming that its own precision calipers say that both devices are .37 inches thick. CR has even posted photos showing the measurements being made. The publication does mistakenly claim that the difference was thought to be 2mm when reports are actually that it is .2mm. Assuming that its calipers are accurate to the 3 decimal places shown in the photos, a .2mm difference would still register.
